It's a fantastic way to choose a trail, or visualize one that you are planning on visiting. To install the ActiveTrails Network Link, click the Install Network Link link on the left menu of this page. Google Earth will load the network link, and place it within the Temporary Places folder. Save the network link by dragging it out of the Temporary Places folder. To view trails in an area, just zoom there in Google Earth, and then wait 5 seconds. The Network Link will load trail information from ActiveTrails, and you will see all available trails shown right on the terrain! Clicking a trailhead will show you a few trail details, and allow you to load more trail information inside your browser.
