Terraces Elbow Fork - HikingCross country skied this. I should have just hiked or snowshoed but I had my skis on. Part of it I had to take the skis off and just carry them. Sking down was great. There wasn't much concern for avalanche.

Bowman Fork - HikingThis the hike up to Gobblers Knob. I did not quite make it all the way. I definitely want to do this one all the way. You can turn it into a loop and come out at Elbow Fork.

Thursday, 6 Jul 06
Red Pine - HikingLate in the evening. Got back just before dark. Hurried the whole way but made it. Worth doing again.
Saturday, 1 Jul 06
ROW BENCH - HikingLots of cattle along the trail. Would have been a better horse ride.
Saturday, 1 Jul 06
Donut Falls - HikingThis is a fun one. It can be a bit like rock climbing at the end if you really want to stand right next to the waterfall. I have been here several time back in the 1960 and 70s. It has changed so much over the years.
Saturday, 1 Jul 06
Twin Lakes Loop - HikingI have done parts of this. Hope to come back and finish it all.
Monday, 5 Sep 05
Lookout Peak - HikingSomething different but not real interesting.
Wednesday, 3 Aug 05
Henrys Fork - HikingThis is part of the trail to Kings Peak. It ends at gunsight pass. I do not see the next section on active trails yet. Maybe I can add it. We will see.
Wednesday, 3 Aug 05
Henrys Fork - HikingThis is the first part of the trail to Kings Peak. It shows leaving the trailhead parking lot and going past Alligator lake.
Sunday, 5 Jun 05
Grandeur Peak - HikingGreat views of the city at the top. Did it with my two daughters and ended up coming back in the dark. Good thing we had a flashlight with us.
Monday, 3 Jan 05
Greens Basin - HikingDid this in the winter with snowshoes.
Saturday, 1 May 04
Morris Meadow - HikingClose to downtown.
Tuesday, 1 Jul 03
Ensign Peak - HikingThis is good for your historical learning.
Saturday, 1 Apr 00
Lake Blanche - HikingHiked with with my son in early late winter/early spring time. There was still lots of snow but it was fun any ways.
Wednesday, 1 Jul 98
Secret Lake - HikingThis is an easy one to do with the kids.
Sunday, 3 May 98
Mount Aire - HikingGood views. It has been a long time ago. I need to do it again.
Saturday, 4 May 96
Upper Calf Creek - HikingDid this with wife and children and Andrew Shields and Nicole Pugh. Rachel was with us also.
Saturday, 4 May 96
Rim Trail - Bryce Point to Inspiration Point - HikingDid this with wife and kids when they were young. I think Morganne had Nicole Pugh and Merril had Andrew Shields as companions. Rachel was with us also.
Thursday, 4 May 95
Lower Calf Creek - HikingWith all three kids. Rachel was really small. I was still carrying her. We drove down from Capitol Reef campground for a day trip. There is a nice campground at the trailhead. Again this came from the book "best hikes with children in utah" by Maureen Keilty.
Tuesday, 4 Apr 95
Middle Fork Taylor Creek - HikingThere is a cabin (Fife Cabin) along the trail that is pretty cool. Rachel was just a baby. She learned to walk on this trip. Not nearly as heavily traveled as Zions. From best hikes with children book by Maureen Keilty.
Tuesday, 4 Apr 95
Canyon Overlook - HikingA favorite. I guess it was just the surprise of how much you get for so little. The view over the edge is awesome and you do not have to work hard for it. From the book best hikes with children by Maureen Keilty.
Tuesday, 4 Apr 95
Riverside Walk - HikingDone this several times. I will gladly do it several more. The best part is at the end to go an extra mile or two upstream. I have only done that part once in 2003. It was great fun. It needs to be warm and have swimming clothes on.
Saturday, 4 May 91
Delicate Arch - HikingMust do. Very popular. A Utah trademark. Took our youngest two kids there when they were young. It was scary to me because I kept seeing my kids falling and going to the bottom of the big bowl at the arch. We did it again when they were teenagers and I was a bit more relaxed. It is funny how time can change your perspective of things.
Saturday, 4 May 91
Sand Dune Arches - HikingSuper easy and fun for the kids. I would do this every time I am there. It is just fun.
Saturday, 4 May 91
Windows Loop - HikingVery popular.
Saturday, 4 May 91
Devil's Garden Loop - HikingDid not make it all the way on this one. I know we made it to landscape arch. I cannot remember how much further. Very popular. The fiery furnace is close by we also spent some time there.
