Trail Description

If you've never hiked past the Y, then this trail is for you. It leads past the Y around into Slide Canyon, through Bear Flats Meadow, and up a steep trail that leads to the very top of Y Mountain. It is a very strenuous hike, but well worth the trip. Bring lunch and enjoy a great view of Utah Valley, from Mt. Timpanogos in the North to Mt. Nebo in the South. - TelegramSam

I did this two weeks ago. It was a very good hike. It took me three and a half hours to get on top. I didn't get to explore the Eastern peak because the sun was setting. Got to see Provo and the surrounding area with all of the lights lit up. Very Pretty. I hiked back down in the dark. Thank goodness I had a bright flashlight!!!

I did this with my usual hiking friend and the view from the top was great. 6 hrs total due to spending 1 1/2 at the top.

Hiked this with a friend today. I needed a hike pretty bad, and this was a perfect workout. After you get past Bear Flats Meadow, the ground cover is lush and green.

2 hours and 20 minutes up and 1.5 hours down. Started at 7 am. Ate 1 apple and 1 orange

We went in perfect weather for hiking, though the Memorial Day crowd somewhat swamped the trail. I think it took us about 3 hours up and 1.5 down. Made for a great morning.
