Provo River Trail (Will's Pit Stop to Vivian Park)

40.283217, -111.659439

Contributed By TelegramSam

Trail Description

Perhaps the most pleasant section of the Provo River trail. Starting at Will's Pit Stop (a gas station), the trail seperates from the road, and remains that way all the way to vivian park. This trail is also popular with longboarders, who coast down from the top of the trail. The trail is paved, and in excellent condition for walking, running, skating, or bikes. - TelegramSam

I started skating from Canyon View park and stopped exactly 4.03 miles away because I was tired of skating. The trail is great because it's wide, smooth, and beautiful. Only a few twigs dangered my ride but with my swift reflexes I was able to maintain balance while only looking somewhat goofy. Coming back definately was easier and seemed to be much more downhill.

Rode with TelegramSam up to Vivian Park from the mouth of the canyon. Collected a few geocaches along the trail, had a snack at the park, and raced the storm back down to our car.

We started at the mouth of the canyon, and rode up to Vivian Park. The sky appeared a little rainy, which seemed to scare everyone away. We got nothing but a few drops, and enjoyed very little traffic on the path. Lots of small animals running across the path, and the trees are very green and provide plenty of shade along the path.

Left early in the morning. It was a little breezy at parts, which slowed us down a little on the rollerblades. Good exercise going up and a quick and easy pace coming down. Watch out for snakes! We saw a four foot snake in the middle of the path. Almost ran over it coming around a corner on the way down. But that is the first time we've seen a snake that big in the many times that we've been on this trail. Didn't make it all the way to Vivian Park because we didn't have enough time.
