Trail Description
This track follows the Grove Creek Trail (Forest Service 048) for about a mile, just past the second switchback turn and then bushwhacks up the southwest ridge. Follow close to the crest of the ridge. Cut north of the crest at 7500 ft to avoid an impassable uphill facing cliff at 7600 ft at the crest of the ridge. Once past this cliff stay near the crest of the ridge again until reaching the south point of the main Mahogany Mountain Ridge. Once on the main ridge enjoy the view of Mount Timpanogos and then head north. Follow game trail on the western side of the ridge. There are a few bands of trees across the ridge which must be passed through. Continue north until reaching the 9001 ft summit.
